The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued the highest level of warning for Tuesday, code red, for the regions of Blagoevgrad, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo and Ruse. The second highest level, code orange, applies to the rest of the country.

Code red for high temperatures is expected to apply to the whole country on Wednesday.

The weather on Tuesday will be mostly sunny with temperatures ranging between 37C and 42C.

On July 17, from 1 pm to 9 pm due to expected high temperatures above 35C, the movement of trucks over 20 tons will be restricted on road sections on the territory of 10 districts - Ruse, Shumen, Varna, Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Targovishte, Razgrad, Silistra and Sofia, the Road Infrastructure Agency reported.
