site.btaPresident to Attend Vote on Draft Cabinet Proposed by GERB-UDF

President Rumen Radev told reporters during his official visit to Athens on Tuesday that he will attend the vote on the draft cabinet proposed by GERB-UDF in the National Assembly on Wednesday.

Radev said that during the consultations with each parliamentary represented party he raised the matter of forming a cabinet. He added: "This is the purpose of the elections - for the parties to form a cabinet and take responsibility for the governance of the country."

Radev said he was not surprised by GERB-UDF's proposal for a minority cabinet and added: "During the consultations with GERB, they expressed their disappointment that they cannot propose a cabinet, because there is no support from the [other] parties. I pointed to other European countries where minority governments as still some way out. This requires responsibility and political courage."
