The website of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) now has information on lightning strikes. Maps with the spatial distribution of recorded lightning strikes by hour are displayed, and their number is indicated in the right corner of the webpage. The information is updated every hour, NIMH said on its official Facebook page.

The processed and visualized information is the result of the work of scientists and experts from the Numerical Modeling section of the Department of Forecasting and Information Services and experts from the Department of Measurement, Metrology and Information Technology at NIMH. Information on lightning strikes can be followed on the websites www.weather.bg and meteo.bg. The information provided is via the Lightning Electromagnetic Emission Location by Arrival time difference system of the UK Met Office.

No dangerous phenomena are forecast this weekend.
