The Council of Ministers adopted Wednesday a decision to open a consulate in Palermo and to appoint Fabio Ginoprelli as Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Italy with headquarters in Palermo and a consular district. The district will cover the territory of the provinces of Palermo, Trapani, Agrigento and Caltanissetta in the Region of Sicily.

The appointment of an Honorary Consul in Palermo will have a positive effect on the development of political ties between Bulgaria and Italy, both in terms of intensifying cultural exchanges and strengthening interaction with the Bulgarian community in Sicily.

Ginoprelli is a doctor by profession, has excellent contacts in the regional institutions of Sicily and enjoys a very good reputation in the community. His appointment will contribute to deepening cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, including developing trade and promoting business between the two countries, attracting new investment and tourists.
