The protest of miners and energy workers continues for the seventh consecutive day on Thursday. The protesters are blocking Trakia motorway in Stara Zagora Region (at the interchange between Stara Zagora and Haskovo) and the Pass of the Republic. They demand that Bulgaria withdraw the Territorial Just Transition Plans recently submitted to the European Commission and new negotiations on the agreement concluded Tuesday between Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, cabinet members, MPs and representatives of energy sector trade unions.

The protest began on September 29 with roadblocks across Bulgaria. Some were lifted on Wednesday following the National Assembly's resolution on the agreement. Miners and energy workers blocking roads in Stara Zagora Region (Southeastern Bulgaria) told BTA on Wednesday afternoon they were not satisfied with the decisions made on the last two days and did not accept the agreement.
