Parliament will discuss at an extraordinary session on Wednesday a draft decision on the approval of the agreement between the Prime Minister, representatives of the Council of Ministers, MPs and representatives of trade unions in the energy sector, concluded on Tuesday, the National Assembly wrote on its website.

The sponsors of the draft decision are MPs Kiril Petkov and Atanas Atanasov from Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria and Delyan Peevski from MRF.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, ministers and MPs held talks with representatives of the protesting miners and energy workers. The meeting lasted several hours, and after it ended, the Prime Minister announced that an agreement had been signed by the main participants in the discussion.

The trade unions insist that the government should guarantee a smooth transition to green energy, develop a draft energy strategy for Bulgaria up to 2030 with a horizon up to 2050, and make investment procedures in the sector more transparent, among other tasks.
