The low level of digital competences remains a challenge in Bulgaria, Labour and Social Policy Minister Ivanka Shalapatova said here on Monday after participating in the official opening of the new academic year at the South-Western University Neofit Rilski.

In order to overcome the low level of digital competences, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has directed funding under programmes, including the Human Resources Development Programme and the Recovery and Resilience Plan, precisely to increase the digital skills of young people, Shalapatova said. She urged young people to take advantage of these opportunities, which are free to them, "because nowadays we all need to be much more competent in this area."

All structures of the Ministry are a reliable partner to students, the Minister told journalists, adding that through labour offices, young people can find information and career guidance.
