site.btaEducation Minister Tzokov Opens Newly Built Campus of Medical University in Plovdiv
The Medical University in Plovdiv is attracting more and more students, with the number of foreign students already surpassing that of Bulgarian students, Education and Science Minister Prof. Galin Tzokov said during the opening of a new cmapus att he university, quoted in a press release of Ministry on Monday. The event was also attended by Health Minister Prof. Hristo Hinkov.
The Minister praised the team of Rector Prof. Dr. Mariana Murdjeva and the lecturers for the fact that the University has a very good academic university infrastructure, moreover, built from its own income from projects and additional training, mainly of foreign students.
Currently over 6200 students are taught by over 700 lecturers.
The seven-storey new campus has 46 classrooms, 51 offices and other facilities, and will house 1,200 students. There is a recreation area on each floor. Funding for this project is entirely from the university's own resources.
The ceremony was also attended by Plovdiv Regional Governor Ilia Zyumbilev, the city's Mayor Zdravko Dimitrov.
