site.btaDeputy Foreign Minister Stoychev Presents Pakistani Ambassador Aftab with Golden Laurel Branch

Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Tihomir Stoychev presented Ambassador of Pakistan to Bulgaria Mariam Madiha Aftab with the Foreign Ministry's Golden Laurel Branch Badge of Honour on the occasion of the completion of her term in office, the Ministry said in a press release here on Wednesday.

Aftab was honoured for her contribution to strengthening relations between Pakistan and Bulgaria, as well as for the assistance provided during the evacuation of Bulgarian and Afghan citizens from Afghanistan in 2021.

Deputy Minister Stoychev and Ambassador Aftab discussed prospects for the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, educational and cultural exchanges, tourism, as well as mutual cooperation in the field of labour migration. The two sides also highlighted the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding on Maritime Cooperation, which the two countries signed at end-May.
