"Young people are the future, sport is the quality of life,” newly appointed Sports Minister Dimitar Iliev said during his inauguration ceremony, as he took over from Vesela Letcheva on Tuesday.

“The two best things have fallen to me [sports and youth] and I accept this challenge with great responsibility. There is no person who has been involved in sports who has not developed some of the finest human qualities - to play fair, to learn order, discipline, hard work, strength and endurance. And young people - they are the future, innovation, energy. All Bulgarian athletes, coaches and young people have in myself a person to turn to for assistance," Iliev stated.

Letcheva pointed out that she leaves a well-prepared and well-working administration and wished Minister Iliev to welcome even more Bulgarian medalists from the biggest sports forums.
