"As work on the 2023 state budget and the budgets of the Public Social Insurance and the National Health Insurance Fund was dragging on, the caretaker government had to propose to the National Assembly a new solution that would enable the little time left until the expiry of the extended budget law to ensure the functioning of the public systems," caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev said, opening Wednesday’s meeting of Cabinet.

"On Tuesday, the government prepared and submitted to the National Assembly a proposal to extend the State Budget Extension Law for 2023 for another three months. The extension of the budget extension law will ensure payments from the state to the people until the adoption of the new budget," he said.

Galab Donev stressed that the caretaker government has been insisting on a responsible attitude to this issue since the 49th National Assembly was formed. "Let's take care of the accounting records of the state," Donev urged.
