site.btaUPDATED President Radev: COVID-19 Pandemic, Energy Crisis, War in Ukraine, Galloping Inflation Make People's Lives Even More Challenging

The COVID-19 pandemic, the energy crisis, the war in the Ukraine and the galloping inflation make the lives of the people even more challenging, President Rumen Radev said during the 11th Congress of the Podkrepa Confederation of Labour. "Together, as a state government, as employers' organizations and labour union, as a society, we must seek the answer and solution to many of those problems. We must make important decisions together, dealing with the implementation of a considerate, rational energy strategy", the head of State commented.
"Working together despite the pessimist predictions, we are obliged as a society to meet the expectations," the President said. "The expectations for the future, that Bulgaria, Europe and the world will deal with the challenges, and no-one can achieve this on their own," Radev added.
The President explained that the labour organizations have taken part in the discussion of the concept not to hurry under foreign pressure "to kill ourselves our base power capacities before we have introduced reliable, cheap, affordable systems for energy storage".
Each congress is an opportunity for analysis and study, and even though the Podkrepa Confederation of Labour was born just three decades ago, its turbulent life would hardly fit into even three centuries, Radev also said. According to the President, during those three decades the Podkrepa Confederation of Labour has become an important factor in the social and political life of the country. "A merciless critic, but also an important and sought-after partner for every government and the employers' organizations", Radev added.
