Two persons have been detained for killing a Bulgarian police officer at the border with Turkiye, said National Investigation Service head and Deputy Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov, referring to information from the Turkish authorities.

Interior Minister: Border Police Officer Was Shot by Illegal Migrants

Commenting on the shooting incident on the Bulgaria Turkiye border that ended with a Bulgarian police officer shot dead, caretaker Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev told reporters on Tuesday morning that the perpetrators were illegal migrants. "We will show zero tolerance towards anyone, who threatens the lives or well-being of our officers at the borders," said Demerdzhiev.
