The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,213,429, after 7,362 tests identified 1,701 new infections on Wednesday, 66.55% of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 23.1%.
Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 389 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 139 cases and Varna Region with 136.
The active cases are 26,582. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 1,077, including 55 in intensive care. Of the 180 new hospital admissions, 81.67% were not vaccinated.
The infected medical staff have reached 25,188.
Another 1,086 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,149,427.
Six fatalities was reported (66.67% unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 37,420.
With 3,156 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,481,873 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,065,237 people are fully vaccinated, and 831,364 have received a booster jab (including 42,884 reboostered).
