Bulgaria sees more disinformation on social networks than Germany, France or Britain, e-Government Minister Bozhidar Bozhanov said in Brussels on Thursday. He met with European Commission Vice President Vera Jourova and Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton.

The social networks should start providing more information on troll farms and coordinated inauthentic behaviour, said Bozhanov, adding that he had discussed this with the two commissioners. In his view, the steps taken so far by the social networks are ineffective.

Regarding cybersecurity, Bozhanov said data sharing within the EU will help a country hit by a cyberattack to warn the other member states about the IP addresses used, which will ensure a rapid response.

Bozhanov said the first services using Bulgarian electronic Identification would become operational by the year's end. He discussed the possibility for EU citizens to use the national apps across the EU.
