The Cabinet Thursday reconfirmed Bulgaria's commitment to a project for improving navigation in the Bulgaria-Romania stretch of the Danube. A letter of shared commitment with Romania was signed by Transport Minister Georgi Gvozdeikov on January 30, 2024 after the two countries submitted The FAST Danube 2 Project for funding from the Connecting Europe Facility.

The project envisages the implementation of engineering measures in the common stretch of the river that will improve navigation conditions and traffic safety.
