Official Bulgarian statistics show that trade between Bulgaria and Romania grew from BGN 9.373 billion in 2020 to BGN 12.65 billion in 2021, with Bulgaria having a BGN 1.082 billion surplus (compared to BGN 578.7 million in 2020), said Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO Eleonora Ivanova in an interview with BTA. With this turnover, Romania has established itself as Bulgaria's second foreign economic partner, she said.
