site.btaCabinet Approves Additional Interior Ministry Budget Expenditures

Additional budget allocations for the Ministry of the Interior for 2026 were approved by the Council of Ministers on Wednesday. The funding, totalling EUR 63,486,235, is designated to support the implementation of a centralized personalization system for Bulgarian identity documents.

An additional EUR 4,500,000 was approved for the Ministry budget to cover urgent repair and restoration work on the border barrier and the adjacent access road along the Bulgarian-Turkish border.

The Cabinet also approved additional budget allocations for 2026, amounting to EUR 3,056,470, to fund the issuance of Bulgarian identity documents in fulfilment of obligations under existing contracts.
