Germany is one of Bulgaria's main partners in agricultural trade, accounting for nearly 8% of Bulgaria's total agricultural trade in recent years, Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture and Food Georgi Tahov said at a meeting with Irene Maria Plank, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Bulgaria.

Tahov reported that the exchange of agricultural goods between the two countries reached EUR 1.0529 in 2023. "This cooperation is important for us, and I am convinced that it will continue to develop and deepen in the future," he added.

The agenda included the concept of draft legislation on the supply chain of agricultural products and food, which aims to balance the agri-food chain and lead to an equal distribution of added value among all operators.
