site.btaEurostat: Employment Rate in EU Remains Stable in Q4 2024, Increases Marginally in Bulgaria


In the fourth quarter of 2024, the employment rate among Bulgarians aged 20-64 in the fourth quarter of 2024 reached 76.8% of the working-age population aged 20 to 64, which is an increase of 0.2 percentage points compared to the third quarter of last year - 76.6%, according to Eurostat labour market figures released Friday.
The EU-wide employment rate in the same age brackets stood at 75.9% stable compared with the third quarter of 2024.
The slackening of the EU labour market, including all persons who have an unmet need for employment, including unemployed people, amounted to 10.8 percent of the extended labour force aged 20-64 in the fourth quarter of 2024. This is a decrease of 0.1 percentage points compared with the third quarter of 2024 – 10.9 percent.
Bulgarians experiencing unmet employment needs accounted for 5.9% of the expanded labour force in the fourth quarter of last year, which is a minimal decrease by -0.1 percent compared to the previous quarter. This is still the lowest level of the indicator for the country so far.
