The Bulgarian film Triumph will be screened in the Czech capital Prague in March, BTA learnt from the organizers Nikola Yotov, Alexander Leonidov and Zdravko Nikolov of PAVÉ (a platform facilitating access to art, theatre and cinema for Bulgarians abroad).
Four screenings are scheduled at the Cinema City Slovansky dum, on March 6, 7, 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. local time.
The film, which is the Bulgarian submission for the 2025 Academy Awards, will have Czech subtitles, said the organizers, adding that this is part of their initiative which aims to ensure a lasting presence of Bulgarian cinema in Czechia.
Triumph is a black comedy that tells the story of a secret military operation in the late 1980s, in which a group of Bulgarian officers, led by a psychic, search for a mysterious artifact that will bring “the final triumph”.
The cast includes Maria Bakalova, Yulian Vergov, Margarita Gosheva, Yulian Kostov and Ivan Burnev.
“Support this initiative and Bulgarian cinema! If the screenings are a success, we will make Bulgarian films a part of the cultural life of Prague”, PAVÉ commented.
