Manol Genov was born on June 14, 1960 in Asenovgrad. He graduated from Plovdiv University with a degree in Russian philology and holds a master's degree from the Svishtov Academy of Economics, majoring in business management, according to the BSP press centre.
Manol Genov has been an MP from the Bulgarian Socialist Party since 2014. He is deputy chairman of the parliamentary group of BSP - United Left in the current 51st National Assembly. He is currently the Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee to establish all the facts and circumstances regarding the problems of water shortage in the country.
Since 2014, he has been a member of the Environment and Water Parliamentary Committee, has been its Vice-Chairman four times, and its Chair in the period 2021-2022.
He is currently the regional chairman of BSP-Plovdiv and a member of the BSP National Council. Former deputy mayor of Asenovgrad and municipal councilor.
