Bulgarian swimmer Diana Petkova set a new national record in the women’s 200m medley event at the 2024 World Aquatics Short Course Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Petkova stopped the clock at 2:09.50 minutes, breaking her own national record in the event by some two seconds. In 2023, she covered the distance in 2:11.26 minutes at the European Aquatics Short Course Swimming Championships in Otopeni, Romania.

Despite the record, Petkova’s result was not enough for a spot in the final, as she finished the race in 17th place.
