site.btaInflation Rate in Bulgaria at 1.8% in October Y/Y

The monthly inflation rate in October in Bulgaria was 1.1%, while the annual inflation rate was 1.8%, the National Statistical Institute said in a press release on Friday. 

The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (October 2024 compared to December 2023) was 1.2%, and the annual average inflation rate for the period November 2023 - October 2024 compared to the period November 2022 - October 2023 was 2.9%.

In October 2024, the prices of goods and services increased in the following consumer groups:

• "Recreation and culture" - an increase of 8.6%;
• "Clothing and footwear" - an increase of 8.2%;
• "Education" - an increase of 1.8%;
• "Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels" - an increase of 1.1%;
• "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" - an increase of 0.6%;
• "Restaurants and hotels" - an increase of 0.4%;
• "Communications" - an increase of 0.3%;
• ‘Miscellaneous goods and services’ - an increase of 0.3%;
• "Health" - an increase of 0.2%;
• "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" - an increase of 0.1%.

The prices of goods and services decreased in the "Transport" consumer group by 0.3%.

The prices of goods and services in "Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house" remained unchanged.
