From 9 p.m. on November 16 to 7 a.m. on November 17, 2024, the Turkish Customs Administration will suspend the processing of cargo vehicles at the Lesovo and the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing points due to the introduction of a new transit information system NCTS-P5, Bulgaria's Customs Agency said on Friday.

In connection with the transition of Turkiye to NCTS Phase 5, the Turkish Customs Administration has declared a planned inoperability of its national transit application for the period from 11 pm on November 16 to 7 am on November 17, 2024. Thus, the Turkish Customs plan inoperability starting.

Tourist traffic will not be affected by the introduction of the new system as cars and buses will continue to be processed.

The Customs Agency, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Bulgaria have coordinated their actions on the organisation of traffic and processing of goods vehicles in order to avoid large congestions in the areas of the two border crossing points, the statement said.
