January 12 (BTA) - The National Revenue Agency (NRA) reported 23.870 billion leva in revenues from taxes and social and health insurance contributions for 2019. This is a record-high 2.8 billion leva more than in 2018 and about 628 million leva more than was planned for the year.

NRA Executive Director Galya Dimitrova said: "The Agency's 2019 revenues hit a record high and their increase outstripped GDP growth by far. Both the amount paid voluntarily and the amount of recovered claims increased."

Tax revenues totalled 13.3 billion leva, including over 3.6 billion leva in personal income tax, 2.8 billion leva in corporate taxes and 6.8 billion leva in net VAT revenues.

Social and health insurance contributions totalled 10.3 billion leva, including 6.2 billion leva in public social insurance contributions, 2.6 billion leva in health insurance contributions and 1.5 billion leva in supplementary compulsory pension insurance contributions. RI/DD
