Ways to advance cooperation in tourism between Bulgaria and Vietnam were on the agenda of a meeting of National Assembly Chair Rosen Zhelyazkov and Doan Minh Huan, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee, Parliament’s press office said.  
 
The Bulgarian parliamentary delegation, which is paying an official visit to Vietnam, met with Doang Ming Juan. Zhelayzkov said that the visit of Bulgarian MPs opens new prospects for strengthening of a yet more fruitful cooperation between the two countries. The role of legislatures is to create conditions for an optimal work of the executive. Zhelyazkov expressed hope that the Bulgarian-Vietnamese mixed committee will hold a session as early as 2024 to look at prospects for development of bilateral relations in trade, tourism, high technology, education and science. “Let the peoples of Bulgaria and Vietnam be together in our joint striving for progress and prosperity,” said Zhelyazkov. 
 
The development of bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Vietnam is a goal to which both peoples should strive, said Doan Minh Huan, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee. He presented information about the province which has cultural and natural landmarks, recognized as world heritage. “We aim to develop tourism and the green economy but popularizing cultural heritage is also an important part of the future of the province,” said Doan Minh Huan. 
 
“We should not forget that Bulgaria is among the first countries which recognized Vietnam’s independence and we are grateful for Bulgaria’s support for the country’s development,” said Doan Minh Huan to Zhelyazkov. 
 
On the first day of its official visit to Vietnam the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation laid wreaths at the Monument Commemorating Heroes and Martyrs in Hanoi and paid homage at the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh. The delegation visited the house where Ho Chi Minh lived and signed the guest book. “The bright future of a people is built on its heroic past. The example of Vietnam is the bridge and the inspiration between past and future. To the bright future of Vietnam and the prosperity of the Vietnamese people,” wrote Zhelyazkov.
