Bulgarian skier Albert Popov missed out on finishing in the top 10 in a race of the Alpine skiing FIS World Cup for the fifth time in his career, finishing 11th in the Madonna di Campiglio slalom on Friday.
Popov had a speedy first run, finishing with a time of 48.38 seconds. The Bulgarian was 0.42 seconds behind the provisional leader Clement Noel of France, but in the second run Popov made several mistakes and finished in 53.06 seconds, making his total time 1:41.44 minutes.
Marco Schwarz of Austria won the race in Madonna di Campiglio.
