site.btaUnemployment Rate in July Decreases to 5%

August 16 (BTA) - The level of registered unemployment in
 the country continued to decline and reached 5 per cent in
July, according to data from the administrative statistics of
the Employment Agency, said the Agency on Monday.

The decrease compared to the previous month is by 0.2 per cent,
and the decrease on an annual basis is by 2.9 percentage points
- from 7.9 per cent in July 2020 to 5 per cent in July 2021.
Compared to the end of July 2019. a year that marked a record
growth in employment, the unemployment rate also dropped by as
much as 0.3 percentage points.

The registered unemployed during the month of July were 165,134,
 which is 5,582 less than in June and 93,419, or 36.1 per cent,
less than a year earlier. In July, 20,451 newly unemployed
people registered with labour offices, a decrease of 90 people
compared to the previous month, and 7,613 people less than in
July 2020. Another 662 people from the groups of employed
jobseekers, students and pensioners also registered with the
Employment Agency during the month.

In July, 17,856 unemployed started working. The data from the
administrative statistics of the Employment Agency show a
decrease in their number by 8,234 compared to June and a
decrease of 9,567 compared to the same month of the previous
year.

 A total of 75.2 per cent of those who started work in July were
 employed in the real economy, most of whom were employed in the
 manufacturing sector - 22.5 per cent, followed by trade with
14.8 per cent, hotels and restaurants with 13.3 per cent, public
 administration - 6.5 per cent, construction - 5.7 per cent,
etc.

The number of jobs advertised on the primary labour market in
July was 15,700, or 3,928 (20 per cent) less than in the
previous month and 649 (4 per cent) less than in the same month
of 2020. The largest share of vacancies in the real economy were
 in the manufacturing industry (30.8 per cent), followed by
hotels and restaurants (12.1 per cent), trade, repair of motor
vehicles and motorcycles (10.9 per cent), education (9.2 per
cent), administrative and support services. activities (8.5 per
cent) and public administration (6.8 per cent).

The most sought-after professions during the month were: machine
 operators of stationary machines and equipment; personnel
employed in the field of personal services; workers in the
mining and processing industry, construction and transport;
