site.btaDeadline for Registration of Independent Candidate Nomination Committees Expires on August 25

Sofia, August 25 (BTA) - Monday is the deadline by which constituency election commissions can register independent candidate nomination committees, the Central Election Commission (CEC) reminded.

Monday is also the deadline by which local administrations are to announce the preliminary electoral registers and publish them on their websites.

After the deadline for the verification of signatures in parties' election documents expired on August 23, the CEC passed a decision to strike out yet another registration, that of the Bulgarian Communist Party, as the formation had two signatures short from the requisite 2,500 valid ones. Thus, 18 parties and seven coalitions are to run in the October 5 early parliamentary elections.
