 Prosecutor General: No Proof that
 Gorni Lom Explosion
 Was Sabotage

Sofia, October 9 (BTA) - There are not proofs that the October 1
blast at the ammunition disposal plant in Gorni Lom
(Northwestern Bulgaria) which killed 15 people was an act of
sabotage, Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov said on Thursday
before a meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council.

Tsatsarov comment was made in connection with claims of the
plant's owner Valeri Mitkov who said in a TV broadcast several
days ago that the explosion was caused intentionally.

Similar opinions were also made by Defence Minister Velizar
Shalamanov and former deputy defence minister Valentin Radev, an
expert on explosives. Radev however questioned Mitkov's
statement that a single mine cannot cause a chain reaction in
several buildings, and said that the blast caused by 450 grams
of explosive could travel 20 or 30 metres across the wall. Radev
added that accidents do not occur at state-owned factories
decommissioning ammunition because they observe the rules. LY
