Sofia, November 21 (BTA) - US President Barack Obama
congratulated Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on his election to a
second term as Prime Minister of Bulgaria and said he looks
forward to working with Borissov in deepening bilateral ties,
said the Government Information Service Friday.

"In a time of multiple global and regional challenges, I know
the United States can count on Bulgaria, as its ally and friend,
to further our shared Euro-Atlantic goals. We must continue to
support Ukraine's sovereignty in the face of Russian aggression,
which includes holding firm on sanctions. As we celebrate
Bulgaria's 10th anniversary in NATO, I thank you for your
country's enduring commitment in Afghanistan and four your
support of international efforts to counter the Islamic State of
Iraq and the Levant.

I hope that, as Prime Minister, you will continue to lead your
government down the path of reform, including by combating
corruption at all levels and across party lines in order to
build a stronger, more prosperous Bulgaria and a welcoming
foreign investment climate. I commend Bulgaria for taking in
thousands of refugees, and, as you work to integrate them into
society, I encourage you to promote the need for tolerance
publicly. You have our continued support in these efforts,"
