Less Newly Built Dwellings in Second Quarter of 2015 Y/Y

Sofia, August 9 (BTA) - According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the second quarter of 2015 the number of newly built residential buildings was 497 and the newly built dwellings in them was 1,970. Compared to the second quarter of 2014 the buildings were by 131 less (or by 20.9 per cent) and the newly built dwellings in them decreased by 1,082 or by 35.5 per cent.

The newly built residential buildings distribution by type shows that highest is the relative share of houses (65.8 per cent) followed by blocks of flats (15.7 per cent). As compared with the second quarter of 2014 an increase of the number of newly built country houses and hostels only was observed.

Highest is the number of residential buildings built in district Varna - 79 buildings with 392 dwellings in them, followed by Plovdiv - 73 residential buildings with 166 dwellings and Bourgas - 60 residential buildings with 573 dwellings.

Highest was the number of newly built dwellings with two rooms (35.7 per cent), followed by those with three rooms (31.1 per cent) and lowest is the number of dwellings with six and more rooms - 2.8 per cent.

In the second quarter of 2015 the total useful space of newly built dwellings was
185.5 thousand sq. m or 22.1 per cent less than in the same quarter of 2014 . The living floor space also decreased (by 24.9 per cent) to 114.8 thousand sq. m. At the same time the average useful floor space of newly built dwelling increased from 78.0 sq. m in the second quarter of 2014 to 9 4.1 sq. m in the same quarter of 2015.
