Parliament Holds Minute of  Silence for Victims of Paris Terror Attacks, Russian Plane Downed over Egypt

Sofia, November 18 (BTA) - Parliament held a minute of silence
for the victims of the Paris terror attacks and the Russian
airplane downed over Egypt.

Parliament Chairperson Tsetska Tsacheva said: "We condemn
strongly and resolutely not just this terrorist attack, but any
form of terrorism as a flagrant unacceptable infringement on
democracy and modern civilization."

GERB

In a declaration read out by floor leader Tsvetan Tsvetanov,
GERB called on the leading democratic countries to take the
necessary steps to eradicate the causes and resources of
terrorism. "At European and national level we should rethink the
objectives, means and measures in conducting integration
policies for marginalized groups," he said.

"As Europeans, we obviously have left gaps in education and
integration because young people who grew up and benefited from
the opportunities provided by democracy killed their
compatriots," GERB said. It firmly opposes attempts to put the
blame on an entire religion and on every person professing it.

Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF)

The MRF parliamentary group strongly denounced the horrendous
bloodbath in Paris, which borders on military diversion in
brutality and aggression, as well as all the recent terror
attacks around the world, including in Ankara and Kenya. They
are encroachments on democracy, civilization and humanity, said
deputy floor leader Tuncher Kurdjaliev.

The world's democratic forces and the civilized world must spare
no effort to stop such acts of barbarism, the MRF said.

"Islamism is Islam's worst enemy. A horrible attack should not
cause a whole global religion and its followers to be
stigmatized. The contemporary world should differentiate between
those who can pray and those who can shoot," said Kurdjaliev.

The fight should be based on the Convention for the Protection
of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and international law.

Patriotic Front

"The solidarity in the wake of the Paris attacks must not cloud
our vision to see the main problem - there is no  longer a
refugee crisis, there is a crisis in Europe," Patriotic Front
Co-chairman and National Assembly Deputy Chairman Krassimir
Karakachanov said. He argued that the European policy has
failed.

The politician said that since Europe is so proud with the
values of freedom, equality and fraternity bestowed by the
French Revolution, it must guard them. "The borders must be
closed, the boats with illegal migrants must be returned back
and not allowed on European shores," Karakachanov said.

The Patriotic Front leader further said that any person coming
from the third world must be integrated to the European
civilization via education. "Such people must be clear that they
come to Europe not to impose their values but to live by a
civilization that has been built in the course of millennia,"
Karakachanov said.

ABV

AVB urged for the suspension of the Dublin 2 Agreement and for
reconsideration of the country of origin criteria.

The ABV parliamentary group supports the proposals for as broad
as possible cooperation and pooling of efforts for fighting
terror, including by means of creating a global anti-terrorist
coalition under the aegis of the United Nations, ABV MP Georgi
Kyuchoukov said.

ABV also urges for reconsideration and lifting of the sanctions
against Russia, arguing that they have counter-productive
effect, and strengthening the dialogue with Moscow on an
international scale. ABV says that Moscow should also be
included as an integral part of the international security
system and the undertaking of joint actions in the fight against
the onslaught of radical Islam and international terrorism, and
the settlement of various crises in the world.

Bulgarian Democratic Centre

"In the face of the threats Europe must stand ever more united,"
Co-floor leader of the Bulgarian Democratic Centre Krassimira
Kovachka said.

"Europe's response must be unwavering and energetic and must
target not only the military structure of the Islamic
quasi-state but their ideology too. Europe must look forward, it
has always won with high morality and responsibility," Kovachka
 said.

Kovachka said that the actions against terror must take account
of two dangers. One is not making a difference between the
Islamic fundamentalism and its antipode, the genuine religion of
the millions of Muslims in the world. The other danger is the
mechanical blending of the problem with the migration flow in
Europe and terrorism.
