US Deputy Secretary of State Blinken to Pay Working Visit to Sofia

Sofia, May 5 (BTA) - US Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken will pay a working visit to Sofia on May 6 and 7, the Foreign Ministry said Thursday.

He is scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov, President Rosen Plevneliev and Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.

The visit is in the context of the attention that the US administration pays to Bulgaria as a valuable ally and partner, and is a continuation of the active political dialogue at high level, the press release reads. The topics to be discussed during the visit are related to cooperation in the sphere of defence, the fight against terrorism, energy security, the rule of law, education and bilateral relations.
