Prime Minister Borissov: There Are No Grounds for Early General Elections

Lyubimets, Southern Bulgaria, May 15 (BTA) - According to Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, there are no grounds for early general elections, even if the President's veto on texts of the Election Code is not rejected. The PM was approached by journalists in Lyubimets, where he unveiled the reconstructed railway lines between Dimitrovgrad and Simeonograd and between Lyubimets and the border with Greece, and the repaired train station of Lyubimets.

He went on to say it is not GERB's but the EU's statistics that show a zero inflation in Bulgaria and forecast an economic growth of over 3 per cent and a record-low unemployment level. The citizens have by 3 billion more savings in banks than they did in 2015, he added. In his words, holding early elections would only plunge the State into chaos.

If the Patriotic Front decides to leave the ruling coalition, then "they do not love the State, they are not patriots, we are not stable," Borissov went on to say.

"The balance lies in common sense. This would not exist today if I had not been yielding and reasonable - I am talking about the GERB party. I hope that all of them are such," Borissov told journalists.
