Defence Minister:  There are Enough Troops at Bulgarian-Turkish Border All Necessary Measures Are Being Taken

Sofia, July 22 (BTA) - Commenting on the state of emergency in Turkey, Defence Minister Nikolay Nenchev Friday said there were enough troops at the Bulgarian-Turkish border. "We have taken all the necessary measures and the results are evident," he added.

Plans have been made and the number of troops at the border can be increased if necessary. The Defence Ministry is taking pre-emptive measures, said Nenchev.

On Saturday the Defence Minister will go to the border with Turkey to meet with the troops and give further directions. "I can see local people feel at ease when the troops are around, that is why I will give further guarantees for our presence and our commitment that we will perform all our duties. The troops are well trained and are interacting with the Interior Ministry very well. People should feel reassured," said Nenchev.
