Game Bird Hunting Season Opens

Sofia, August 12 (BTA) - The hunting seasons for quail, European turtle dove, common wood pigeon, Eurasian woodcock, and great snipe opened on August 13, the Executive Forest Agency said. The symbolic opening ceremony took place in the village of Belashtitsa, Plovdiv Municipality.

The Agency recalls that hunting is allowed on a written permit, specified the date, the names of hunters, the numbers of the hunting licences, the method and place of hunting, the game species and the allowed game numbers for hunting.

In connection with extreme average daily temperatures this year and the increased risk of wildfires, the Agency urges that fire safety rules are observed in forests.
