May 20 (BTA) - Chavdar Marinov has been appointed Deputy
Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry by order of Prime
Minister Boyko Borissov, the Government information service said
on Monday.
Marinov graduated in livestock husbandry from the Thracian
University in Stara Zagora and has a master's degree in
financial management and marketing from the Higher School of
Insurance and Finance in Sofia. He held a series of expert
positions at the State Fund Agriculture and the Ministry of
Agriculture between 2007 and 2017. Executive Director of the
Bulgarian Association of Producers of Fruits and Vegetables
since 2018.
As Deputy Minister, Marinov will be responsible for the
implementation of the national and EU policy in the field of
crop growing and organic farming, and risk and crisis management
to counteract damages in case of unfavourable weather
