Tehran/Sofia, August 11 (BTA) - A new Commercial Service will start operating at the Bulgarian Embassy in Tehran from September, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) said on Monday. The new unit is headed by Tsvetan Alexov.
Bulgaria and Iran have seen their trade and economic relations grow recently. In the first quarter of 2014, Bulgarian export increased 814 per cent to 37.5 million US dollars, and Iranian import increased 66.67 per cent to one million dollars from a year earlier.
The BCCI said that trade between the two countries takes place with traders from third countries acting as intermediaries.
The new Commercial Service is expected to work towards ensuring direct access for Bulgarian goods to the Iranian market, as well as to facilitate the import of Iranian goods in Bulgaria.
The Iranian market has a large potential for Bulgarian export.
