Sofia, August 15 (BTA) - The Sofia office of the National Revenue Agency (NRA) on Friday said it had collected over 2.8 billion leva in taxes and contributions by the end of July.

This is an increase of 254 million leva, or 10 per cent, from the like period of 2013. Tax revenues stood at 1.8 billion leva, an increase of 209 million leva from 2013.

Income tax revenues added up to 427 million leva, or up by 94 million leva. By July, VAT revenues were 955 million leva, up by 85 million leva, or 10 per cent, from 2013. Unrecovered VAT was at its lowest in seven years, or 59 million leva down from the January-July period of 2013.
Corporate tax revenues were 364 million leva, or 28.6 million leva up.

Social and medical contributions saw an increase of 14.5 per cent year-on-year, at a total of 999 million leva or 126 million leva more.

By the end of the year, social and medical contributions are expected to total 1.74 billion leva, or 101.4 per cent of annual projections.

Revenues collected by the Sofia NRA office, account for 35 per cent of all NRA revenues by the end of July, which stood at over 8.1 billion leva.
