Varna, on the Black Sea, August 17 (BTA) - A border patrol ship detained a yacht carrying 63 illegal immigrants on Saturday, said the Border Police.

The vessel, which did not identify itself, was intercepted South of Kaliakra Cape from the integrated monitoring system. The yacht entered Bulgarian waters from Turkey. A border patrol ship inspected it and found the immigrants, among whom are 18 women and 16 children.

The border patrol ship escorted the yacht to the port city of Varna, where the Turkish captain was detained.

The Bulgarian Red Cross has provided the aliens with food for two days, disinfectants and masks. They are expected to be transported to accommodation facilities on Monday.
