site.btaBulgaria Presents Work in Antarctica at International Forums

Auckland, New Zealand, August 25 (BTA) - The 26th annual symposium of the Council of Managers of National Antarctic Programs (COMNAP) and the 2014 Open Science Conference of the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) opened here on Monday, head of the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute Prof. Hristo Pimpirev said.

At the two forums Bulgaria is represented by Pimpirev and by expeditions logistic manager Yordan Yordanov. The two will present Bulgaria's work in Antarctica in the past season and coordinate the logistic and research programme for the upcoming 23rd national Antarctic expedition. They will also familiarize the Antarctic community with the preparation of the Consultative Meeting of the Antarctic Treaty member states due in Sofia in June 2015.
