Sofia, November 20 (BTA) - The 10th Annual Festival of Bulgarian
Film in New York - So(fia) Independent - New York, opened at
Tribeca Cinemas in Manhattan on Wednesday, with Bulgarian Oscar
nominations "Bulgarian Rhapsody" and "Vitosha", the organizers
said.

The programme presents seven award-winning features and two
documentaries in the course of four days.

The founder of the Bulgarian Film Festival in New York and So
Independent Film Festival in Sofia is Jana Karaivanova, an award
winning actress and producer. The festivals are a cultural
bridge between Sofia and New York through annual film events on
either side of the Atlantic. This year, for a second consecutive
time, the festival will also be a west coast event, featuring
five award winning films at the Delancey Screening Room in San
Francisco.

So Independent Film Festival - New York is organized by the
Foundation for Bulgarian Culture Abroad, the Bulgarian National
Film Center, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the
support of Bulgaria - America Cultural Exchange, Inc. and
Bulgarian Wine. It is produced by United Production.
