Students from Sofia Win Five Gold, Three Silver Medals at Science Olympiad

Sofia, January 20 (BTA) - Students from Sofia's High School of Mathematics won five gold and three silver medals at the 12th International Zhautykov Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on January 13-19.

The Bulgarian team placed first, leaving behind 54 teams from 17 countries, and was a few points short of taking the Grand Prix, which went to the 1329th Moscow School.

Zhautykov Olympiads have been organized since 2005 to develop cooperation among science schools around the world. Sofia's School of Mathematics has been participating since 2007.
