Medical Association Urges Suspension of Scheduled Admissions to Hospital as of April 1
Sofia, March 31 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Medical Association (BMA) has sent a declaration to the media calling for suspension of scheduled admissions to hospital as of April 1 when the Annex to the 2015 National Framework Agreement takes effect, BMA President Ventsislav Grozev said on Thursday. The Annex was signed by Health Minister Peter Moskov a few days ago.
Over 200 general practitioners gathered in front of the Hill Hotel in Sofia. Their protest is expected to continue until 7 pm. The physicians complain against what they claim is statutory chaos in the healthcare system.
On Monday, GPs started effective phased protests against the package of reforms moved by Moskov and the ex officio imposition of the framework agreement after the BMA refused to sign a new agreement.
