Prime Minister Borissov not Surprised by President Plevneliev's Decision not to Run for Second Term
Bourgas, on the Black Sea, May 21 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov told journalists in the coastal town of Pomorie on Saturday that he is not surprised by President Rosen Plevneliev's refusal to run for a second term, adding that he and the President have already discussed this matter.
"We worked wonderfully and in sync with Plevneliev throughout the years. The drama is for those who tried to humiliate him and tell outright lies on his behalf," Borissov said.
Commenting information circulated by various Bulgarian media, that GERB has approached UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova and Elena Poptodorova, who was until recently Bulgaria's ambassador to the US, to run for president, Borissov said that this goes beyond all lies.
Early parliamentary elections would push the country into chaos, the Prime Minister told journalists, adding, however, that at this point they would be impossible because the other parties are not ready.
The Prime Minister opened a new fishing port in Pomorie, which spans over an area of over 41,000 sq m and can accommodate up to 36 boats.
