Police officials discovered a drug den near Varna during a specialized operation, said the Varna Regional Directorate of the Interior on Thursday.

Law enforcers found 279 pots with hemp plants and another 660 seedlings in a house in the Manastirski Rid area. About 11 kilogrammes of dry grassy mass were also discovered at the premises, which were equipped with special equipment.

A 47-year-old man from Shumen (Northeastern Bulgaria) has been detained and pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
