The first edition of the Elixirs and Delicacies exhibition opened in Veliko Tarnovo on Thursday. Organic producers from all over the country are exhibiting food, beverages and cosmetics with an emphasis on innovation and sustainability.
Visitors can sample coffee with three types of chili pepper, organic products made from Bulgarian rose oil, wine made by boutique wineries, pasteurized apple juice, kombucha, to name just a few. Rose liqueur made according to a 1970s recipe by Vinprom AD Veliko Tarnovo is a perfect addition to digestifs in the summer.
In his welcome address, Regional Governor Ivaylo Zdravkov stressed that the event is unique - a large private company is lending a hand to smaller producers with the idea of creating a network promoting future business relations. He expressed hope that these meetings will become a tradition in the town.
The exhibition aims to promote direct contacts between producers and consumers, as well as to support the development and market expansion of local producers. Entrance is free. "We have managed to bring together 24 Bulgarian companies that dared to participate in the first edition of a new venture," said Milen Georgiev, Manager of Business Center Veliko Tarnovo.
