site.bta200 Academics from 16 Countries Meet at Veliko Tarnovo University
Veliko Tarnovo University kicked off its annual Languages, Cultures, Communication International Scientific Conference on Thursday. Nearly 200 representatives of the academic and scientific community from 16 countries participate in the conference, the university said.
University Rector Dimitar Dimitrov welcomed the participants from Bulgaria, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, Greece, Serbia, Albania, Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, France, Spain, China, South Korea and Japan. Karol Zelinsky, Director of the Polish Institute in Sofia and First Secretary at the Polish Embassy in Bulgaria, was also present at the opening.
The conference will cover the fields of: languages and cultures; literatures and cultures; Bulgarian studies abroad; 50 years Polish studies at Veliko Tarnovo University; Balkan languages and cultures; methodology of language and literature teaching; translation studies; and media and communications. After a double anonymous review procedure, the papers of the conference will be published in the Studia Philologica Universitatis Velikotarnovensis periodical.
